The new integration leverages URC’s Unified Modules framework to support up to 512 DMX channels while enabling automations with other Total Control subsystems.
Given the current dynamism of the lighting category, control brands have their work cut out for them when it comes to making sure all options work seamlessly on a given platform. In that vein, URC recently announced a new integration with Axion Lighting, bringing the company’s DMX-based lighting systems into the Total Control platform.
The collaboration leverages URC’s Unified Modules framework, which was developed to standardize interfaces across multiple smart home categories in a way that benefits both integrators and end-users.
What the Axion Integration Adds to Total Control
The new integration enables two-way, real-time IP-based control and feedback for DMX fixtures. Upon setup, the new Axion Lighting Unified Lighting and Scenes module automatically identifies all configured channels and organizes fixtures within the Unified Lighting interface.
Dealers can then assign channels by fixture name, room and color or dimmer role, with the system supporting up to 512 DMX channels. Fixture attributes — such as brightness, color, and effects — are controlled directly through the Unified interface, allowing for fine-grained management.
Scenes can also be recorded and recalled through Unified Scenes, enabling end-users to trigger multi-room lighting environments alongside other automation events. At the same time, dealers can crate more advanced macros that combine lighting effects with other Total Control subsystem automations, such as shading and AV.
