A-200 DMX Controller — Firmware Version 1.9.0

Released September 22, 2026
Available as a free update for the A-200-DMX-CTRL-P PoE and Wi-Fi DMX controller.

Firmware version 1.9.0 introduces a redesigned local web interface with fixture setup and control, expanded integration options, and improvements to security and reliability.

New: Fixture setup and control

Manage your lighting as named fixtures, with controls suited to each fixture type.

  • Supported fixture types: Dimmer, tunable white, RGB, RGBW, and RGBWW.

  • Fixture management: Create, name, edit, re-address, and delete fixtures.

  • Lighting controls: Adjust brightness, dimmer levels, white-channel levels, color temperature, and color where supported.

  • Smooth transitions: Apply optional fade times to lighting adjustments.

  • Address protection: Built-in checks prevent overlapping fixture channel assignments.

  • Saved configuration: Fixture definitions and names are retained through reboots.

Fixture names support up to 15 printable ASCII characters.

Redesigned local web interface

The new Fixtures tab brings setup, organization, and control into one view.

  • View DMX channel assignments in a visual patch map.

  • Organize fixtures with a sortable list.

  • Access dedicated fixture editing and control panels.

  • Switch between fixture and channel control.

  • Receive clearer error notifications.

The update also adds a browser tab icon and prevents firmware upgrade attempts when no file has been selected.

Expanded integration options

New fixture commands and authenticated HTTP API endpoints allow external systems to create, manage, and control fixtures.

  • Added control commands: fadd, fremove, fedit, flist, and fname.

  • Added lighting commands: fsetb, fsetdim, fsetww, fsettemp, and fsetcolor, with optional transition times in milliseconds.

  • Added HTTP endpoints on port 80, protected by basic authentication, for listing, creating, reading, editing, deleting, and controlling fixtures.

  • Individual fixture responses include current channel levels, including changes made through other control sources.

  • /api/info now reports the DMX bit mode.

Commands that do not apply to a fixture’s type return invalid-fixture-type.

Security and reliability improvements
  • Fixed an Art-Net packet validation issue that could allow malformed packets to overrun a buffer.

  • Improved Art-Net shutdown handling.

  • Fixed an endless loop triggered by certain channel-range expressions.

  • Added command input buffer overflow protection.

  • Improved scene handling to reduce the time shared resources are locked.

  • Added a clear save-scene failed response when a scene cannot be saved to flash.

  • Reduced unnecessary writes to settings storage.

  • Improved handling of fixture names in the web interface.

Compatibility and interface changes

Fixture features require 8-bit DMX mode. In 16-bit mode, fixture definitions remain saved and patched, but fixture commands other than flist are unavailable.

The Demo tab and its /api/control endpoint have been removed. The animate control command remains available.
